Light up the Conversation Festival LAMPA with Your Events

We invite everyone – from the individual enthusiast to companies or government institutions – to propose their two-day program of events for one of the highlights of 2018, the conversation festival LAMPA. Next year, marking Latvia’s 100-year anniversary, we will energize the Cēsis Castle park with our event, highlighting trust as a value:  trust in one’s neighbours, community, country.  The Сonversation festival LAMPA will take place June 29-30, 2018.

"Latvia is not created by one person, one company or one organization. It is created by all of us together, as is the Сonversation festival LAMPA.  On the eve of Latvia’s 100th anniversary, we invite everyone – individuals, like-minded groups, companies, non-governmental organizations, universities, media, government agencies, cultural organizations – to co-create the 2018 LAMPA festival. Let’s light the LAMPA together!”  invites festival director Ieva Morica.

Taking into account the growing interest in co-creating LAMPA, we have established a two-step process for submitting your event proposals. Those who are interested in organizing their own tent or stage and providing a two-day series of events should submit applications from November 30 to January 7. Those who wish to organize one or more events on existing LAMPA stages, should submit their ideas from January 17 – February 28

We place no limits on choices of topics or formats, but proposals will be evaluated based on the festival manifesto and event criteria.  Detailed information and application forms are available on the LAMPA website www.festivalslampa.lv/lv/pieteikumi.

The conversation festival LAMPA will once again be a place for valuable conversations, a place to meet like-minded people, or - conversely – a place to meet those who will challenge your worldview. Event formats are diverse – serious conversations, educational workshops, lively discussions, theatre games and thought-provoking art installations Participation in LAMPA will give you the opportunity to not only influence events in Latvia, and engage in one-on-one conversations with opinion leaders, but also to engage your target groups in conversation outside of their comfort zone, to educate and create dialogue about those issues important to your organization, company or public institution.

LAMPA is a non-commercial event, and attendance is free. Festival costs are covered by donations, grants and co-financing from event co-creators.  This year, the Foundation for an Open Society DOTS is offering two stipends to cover co-financing requirements (two free spots) for those offering a two-day program of events.  Stipends are available to individuals and non-governmental organizations

The conversation festival LAMPA is organized by the Foundation for an Open Society DOTS, Swedbank Latvia, the communications management agency ‘’Deep White”, the advertising agency “Armadillo”, the Cēsis local government and the British Council Latvia.  Financial support is provided by the Foundation for an Open Society “DOTS”, Swedbank Latvia, Open Society Foundations, the British Council, The Boris and Inara Teterev Foundation and Enefit.
