Second conversation festival LAMPA

The second conversation festival LAMPA will take place this summer, same place, same time: in the first days of July, in the magical Cesis castle park.  For 2 days, July 1st and 2nd, the LAMPA festival will once again offer light-hearted and engaging opportunities to focus on current events and issues, and a rich cultural programme. Education will be the focal point of this year’s festival.

You can follow the development of the festival programme on the webpage www.festivalslampa.lv, as well as in LAMPAs social media spaces. More than 20 organizations – public, private and non-governmental – are sharing their visions of an open, inclusive and democratic Latvia as they put together the festival programme.

“Democracy is not just elections every four years. Democracy is a culture of conversation and discussion. It is a process that must be nurtured. We are organizing the conversation festival LAMPA with this in mind – nurturing a culture of democratic conversation in Latvia. LAMPA provides a laid-back atmosphere where anyone and everyone can exchange ideas and opinions, and discuss Latvia’s past, present and future in an environment of mutual respect.” emphasizes Ieva Morica, Festival Director, and Executive Director of the Foundation for Open Society DOTS.

The conversation festival LAMPA founders and main sponsors are the Foundation for Open Society DOTS and ‘’Swedbank”. The festival home and other support is provided by the Cesis local government. The organizing committee includes the Foundation for Open Society DOTS, advertising agency ‘’Armadillo’, the communication management agency ‘’Deep White’’, the event planning agency ‘’Chocolate Events”. The festival programme is also supported by  the Boris and Inara Teterev Foundation, the State Culture Capital Foundation, the legal offices of Kļaviņš Ellex. Publicity support is provided by the magazine ‘’IR” and Draugiem.lv.

Entry to the festival is free of charge.
